The Scope of services offered by the Cairo Centre encompasses the following:

  • Administering domestic and international arbitrations (according to the
         UNCITRAL Rules) and other ADRs

  • Providing non-UNCITRAL institutional arbitration services upon request

  • Providing administrative and technical assistance to
          parties of ad hoc arbitration upon request

  • Offering legal opinion during the drafting process of
          international commercial and investment contracts

  • Providing consultations regarding the avoidance of dispute
          during pre-contractual process

  • Promoting arbitration and other ADR techniques in the
          Afro-Asian region through the organization of
          international conferences and seminars as well as the
          publication of researches serving both the business and
          legal communities

  • Holding international investment and trade related
          conferences to create a trans-cultural central point that
  •  
          intersects the international with the regional with the
          ultimate purpose to attain conformity with international
          law and practice

  • Providing capacity-building training courses in the field of
          international commercial arbitration (and other ADR
          Techniques) in order to qualify arbitrators-to-be in the
          Afro-Asian Region

  • Providing technical and administrative assistance to newly-established arbitral
          institutions in the region

  • Rendering assistance for the enforcement of arbitral awards

  • Conducting academic and practical researches and studies

  • Developing a comprehensive library and data bank in Arabic, English and French
         addressing matters of trade, investment and commercial dispute resolution
         laws, rules and techniques. This service includes:


    a) Compilation of trade and investment laws of the countries of the region

    b) Provision of information about economic development schemes in the region
         setting out the different investment opportunities available

    c) Conducting research of both academic and practical nature in the field of trade
         and investment laws, as well as deriving new and alternative means of dispute
         resolution

    d) Compiling a record of national and regional consultation firms of outstanding
         reputation in the field of trade, industry and investment
